As an artist, I am constantly inspired by the beauty of nature. One painting that holds a special place in my heart is "Sun-streaked." It depicts a family of cows grazing peacefully amongst a grove of aspen trees in the mountains of Arizona.
My wife Kathy and I stumbled upon this picturesque scene during one of our excursions, and we knew we had to capture it on film. Little did we know this moment would inspire one of my most beloved paintings.
There are so many aspects of this painting that I adore. The vibrant colors of the aspen trees against the bright blue sky, the gentle and tranquil presence of the cows, and the crisp mountain air enveloped us in a sense of peace and serenity.
I have always been drawn to the beauty of cattle, their gentle nature, and how they roam freely in their natural surroundings. Paired with the majestic aspen trees, it creates a harmonious composition that captures the essence of nature's unparalleled beauty.
"Sun-streaked" is not just a painting to me but a cherished memory and a conversation starter. It reminds me of that perfect day in the mountains with my wife, and I hope it brings joy and tranquility to all who view it. So, whenever someone admires this painting and asks me about its inspiration, I am happy to share the story of how "Sun-streaked" came to be. As an artist, I believe the more personal a piece is, the more it resonates with others. And I am grateful for this opportunity to share my love for nature through my art. So, I hope that as you see a herd of cows grazing amongst aspen trees hanging on your wall, you take a moment to appreciate their beauty and let it especially inspire you. God's creation, nature, is the greatest muse, and I am honored to capture its essence through my paintings.
